Features Playable Demo with New Character; Game Goes on Sale at 40% Discount
Video game publisher and developer Cygames, Inc. (HQ: Shibuya, Tokyo; President: Koichi Watanabe, hereinafter referred to as “Cygames”) has announced its plans for Evo 2024 in Las Vegas. This includes new details for a booth featuring Cygames’ fighting game, Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising (GBVSR), which was developed by Arc System Works Co., Ltd., for the PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4, and Steam. Additionally, the company has announced GBVSR is currently on sale at a 40% discount.
Updates Regarding Evo 2024
The Cygames booth will be operating from July 19 to 21—the full duration of Evo 2024—and will feature
the following attractions.
Update 1.50 Preview Demo, Including Upcoming Playable Character
Autograph Session with CyDesignation’s Hideo Minaba
The Cygames booth will be hosting an autograph session with Hideo Minaba, president of CyDesignation, who oversaw the character designs for GBVSR.
Hideo Minaba
Born in Tokyo on August 2, 1971, Minaba began his career at Square Co., Ltd. (now Square Enix Co., Ltd.) at the age of 19, where he would eventually become art director of the Final Fantasy series. After going independent, he helped found Designation Co., Ltd. and CyDesignation Inc., where he served as character designer for the Granblue Fantasy series in addition to his many other roles.
The booth will also host another autograph session featuring Tetsuya Fukuhara, creative director on GBVSR, and Motohiro Okubo, CEO of Cygames America. Signable cards, created especially for Evo 2024, will be distributed at both sessions.
Tournament and Watch Party with Special Guests
Cygames have invited Kizzie Kay and Mike Ross, prolific members of the fighting game community, to compete in a friendly GBVSR tournament at the Cygames booth. Additionally, Kizzie Kay and Mike Ross will be hosting a watch party for Evo 2024’s main GBVSR tournament. Evo 2024 attendees are invited to the booth to participate.

Kizzie Kay
Kizzie Kay is a professional gamer and online entertainer known for his gaming skills and engaging personality. He has gained a following through live streaming, competitive gameplay, and creating entertaining content on platforms like Twitch and YouTube. His charisma and interactive style have made him a popular figure in the fighting game community.
Mike Ross
Mike Ross is a professional gamer, host, and content producer. Having worked in gaming for over 20 years, Mike has hosted events for prime time national television on both ESPN and ESPN2, as well as the White House on Twitch. His career evolved from pro gamer to program management for IGN and Twitch, overseeing some of the largest fighting game tournaments in the world. Currently, Mike continues to exhibit his passion for a career in the games industry by showcasing Singapore’s gaming culture through Versus Vortex, a YouTube channel he cofounded with fellow pro gamer Xian.
Granblue Fantasy: Relink Playable Demo
A special Evo 2024-exclusive demo version of Granblue Fantasy: Relink (full game released on February 1, 2024 for PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4, and Steam) will be available at the Cygames booth, where visitors can attempt a special mission in a group of up to four players. Those who successfully complete the mission will be awarded a limited-edition T-shirt.
Brand-New and Returning Merchandise
A wide selection of new GBVSR merchandise never seen before Evo 2024 will be available to purchase at the Cygames booth. Merchandise previously sold at Anime Expo 2024 in Los Angeles and EVO Japan 2024 in Tokyo will also be available.
Finally, Cygames plans to give out other novelty items to booth visitors. Evo 2024 attendees are invited to the Cygames Booth to participate in all planned activities.
